ScriptWriter Studio Pro

Every other AI script tool starts writing the moment you hit go — pulling from whatever it half-remembers and filling gaps with confident fiction. ScriptWriter does something different: it reads your sources first. Built specifically for YouTube long-form creators — documentary channels, video essays, explainers, investigative content — it turns a topic and your trusted source links into a full 8-act script: narration, B-roll cues, fact tags, and an anti-AI cleanup pass. Every fact traces back to something real you provided. Runs entirely on your computer. Nothing passes through our servers. Ever.

8-act structure Documentary flow from cold open to outro — built in.
Source-grounded Reads your links first. Facts trace back to sources, not guesses.
One-click install Double-click install.bat. No coding, no command line.
Your API key ~$1–5 per script depending on model paid to Anthropic. No ScriptWriter subscription.

How it works

From messy links to a credible documentary script.

Built for YouTube creators making long-form videos — 10 to 40 minutes, research-heavy, where getting the facts wrong costs you your audience. You bring the topic and the sources you already trust. ScriptWriter reads them first, extracts grounded findings, builds the outline, and writes section by section — never inventing details to fill a gap.

1

Install in one click

Download the zip, extract it anywhere, double-click install.bat. It sets up everything — Python, dependencies, desktop shortcut. No terminal required.

2

Enter your Claude API key — it never leaves your machine

Paste your Anthropic API key once in the sidebar. It is saved to a config file on your computer only — never transmitted to ScriptWriter servers, never logged, never exposed. The only connection it makes is directly from your machine to Anthropic's API when you generate a script. We have no way to see it because it never reaches us. Get a free key at console.anthropic.com — you pay Anthropic ~$1–5 per script depending on model, nothing to us.

3

Add your topic and source links

Paste the video title, subject, target length, and 2–5 URLs you trust. The research engine reads your sources first before touching the open web.

4

Get the full script

8 sections: cold open, three acts, two pattern interrupts, verdict, outro. Narration, B-roll cues, pause markers, and a humanizer pass that strips generic AI phrasing.

Sample output

A script system that keeps the evidence visible.

Built for YouTube documentary channels, video essays, and long-form explainers covering current news, history, business, finance, science, geopolitics, and true crime — anywhere accuracy is part of the product.

Grounded findings excerpt
LOOP

A contradiction is selected early, then resolved later in the narrative arc — the open question that keeps viewers watching.

ROOT

Core claims are tied to source-backed details before they are allowed into the script. No invention to fill narrative gaps.

PIVOT

Turning points are separated from background context so the story does not flatten into a list of facts.

Narration preview excerpt
COLD OPEN

[B-ROLL: Handheld. A normal street.
Nothing looks wrong yet.]

There's a version of this story
that gets told everywhere.

The clean version.
The one that fits in a headline.

[PAUSE]

Then there's what the documents say.

Those two versions don't match.

[B-ROLL: Source material on screen.
Highlighted passages. Date stamps.
Slow zoom.]

NARRATION
I spent weeks pulling on this thread.
And the further I got, the more
it became clear that the official
account wasn't missing details
by accident.

This is where we start.

FAQ

Reasonable questions before you buy.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The installer handles Python, dependencies, and the desktop shortcut automatically. You double-click one file and the app opens in your browser.

What is the ongoing cost?

You pay Anthropic directly per script. ScriptWriter offers two models: Claude Opus 4.8 (highest quality, ~$3–5 per script) and Claude Sonnet 4.6 (excellent quality, ~$1–2 per script — the recommended default). As Anthropic releases better models, ScriptWriter updates to include them, so you are always running current. No subscription to ScriptWriter either way.

How do I get a Claude API key?

Create a free account at console.anthropic.com, add a small credit ($5–10 is plenty to start), and copy your API key into the ScriptWriter sidebar.

Does it work on Mac or Linux?

The current installer is Windows only (10 and 11). Mac and Linux support is planned for a future update.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. The app runs entirely on your computer. The only external connection is to Anthropic's API for AI calls. Your scripts, source links, and API key never leave your machine.

Does it replace fact-checking?

ScriptWriter does not generate facts — it extracts them from the sources you provide. Every claim in the script has to trace back to something in your source material. If a detail is not in your sources, the script will not put it in — it flags the gap as [UNVERIFIED] rather than filling it with a plausible-sounding invention. The quality of the output is a direct reflection of the quality of your sources. Better sources, more trustworthy script.

What niches work best?

Current news, history, geopolitics, finance, business, science, explainers, true crime, and documentary channels — anywhere sourcing and accuracy matter.
